What to expect:

  • In the class, we will review “How Adults Learn” and discuss various effective learning styles; how to prepare an agenda for training (SMART); how to evaluate the effectiveness of the training; and room setups, teaching aides, practice techniques, knowledge checks, etc.
  • Each attendee will prepare an agenda for a presentation on the first day, as well as proctor a short training class on the second day.
  • Not only will attendees gain additional cleaning knowledge and connect with other professionals, but they will depart with the confidence and competence to train not only their custodians but other team members as well. This training is ideal preparation for the upcoming academic school year.

Perry Shimanoff is an ISSA Certified “Master” Custodial Trainer with 45 years of experience primarily working with K-12 districts, charter schools, community colleges, universities, counties, churches, homeless shelters, and airports. He has served as CASBO’s Custodial Trainer since 1995; is an active member and Chair of the S400 standards committee of the IICRC; and his “Smart Cleaning” course is now available via the CASBO on-line learning system.

  • A tour of the WAXIE Sanitary Supply warehouse is included at the conclusion of the workshop
